A good friend of mine asked me for some help to go through his Grandfather's coin collection to see if there was anything good in it.
He stopped by and dropped it off this morning. I was expecting a shoebox, but it ends up being a big heavy box of coins.
So, a while later I start going through them and most are Franklin Mint sets, US mint sets and a lot of foreign coins. There was also a good amount of silver American coins.
Anyhow, I am at the bottom of the box and there is a an old binder filled with sheets of coins... I am looking through them and turn to to the last page and it is filled with Austrian gold coins! Queue the bulging eyes!
He didn't even know they were in there and is very excited about it..
Anyhow I thought it was a fun story...

Nice! About 1.2 oz. of 24kt gold total for all eleven coins and possible numismatic value on top of that.
If your friend is thinking of selling, and goes to a brick and mortar shop I’d seriously offer whatever the dealer offers.
