I didn't find this detecting but for $0.25 at a yardsale which felt just as awesome. I bought an acid test to see if it was real, but I've never used one before since the only other gold I found was so very clearly gold.

Can anyone take a look at the picture and let me know does this pass the 14k test? I feel like the acid did wear away the gold streak a very little but noticeable bit (maybe some plating?) but the streak remaining in the picture was resilient for the remaining time on the plate.

Nice ring find!!

I love garage sale/ yard sale "digging"! There is an event each month near me (40 miles) that is pretty famous. First Monday Trades Days in Canton, Tx. I was walking along the vendors one day and noticed a cigar box full of rings and stuff. I pulled all the ones I wanted (about 12) and offered the lady $10 for them. I may be headed for a hot afterlife, but she accepted the offer, so...lol. Turned out I had 10 925 marked rings, a large non-silver class ring from a Mexican tech school, and a brass ring thing that I woulda swore was gold! lol I love a great discovery! Sld the class ring on Ebay for $65! The silver went at melt value.

Awesome score man, don't scrap it for melt, that's actually a name brand ring, look up "Stuller"

Excellent! I’ve never found a deal like that, I ask about jewelry and coins at every garage sale I go to, never any luck. If they do even have junk rings, they’re priced 3x junk value :?:

Nice find! I have done similarly well at times with marbles...only because I generally know the market. Never have I found gold/silver for such a value. Congrats!
