Pottery age and type

I found this large shard of pottery in Georgia and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to its age and/or type.

The pic is a copy of a famous Currier and Ives lithograph..depicts Nathaniel Currier himself with his second wife.. original lithograph 1853...the lithograph was a gift for Xmas from his employees..he immediately ordered it into production and it became hugely famous and reproduced..was used in 1974 for Xmas stamps...thought you might like the history behind the picture..nice relic
 
Cool find and what timing..."Tis the season"! Sometimes broken shards, colored broken bottle necks, buttons and old marbles are hard to leave behind and look nice when displayed togather in a larger clear glass container. HH!
