Help with round ball ID

Nope, fact. It's called the preponderance of evidence. If every coin and relic in a spot is from the 1700's, then so is the musket ball.

I have never heard of a spot where more modern items were not lost or discarded than older ones. If I found an old beer can next to a reale, would you assume they were of the same age?

Not going to argue the point with you over and over. I've found many virgin 1700's cellar holes deep in the woods. Most will have cross contamination from the 1800's and up, but some do not. If I found a musket ball at one of those spots, there's no doubt it was from the 1700's as well.

Reminds me of the argument that some made when I found my 1785 bar cent. They claimed it was the 1862 counterfeit, but I knew better. The spot where I found it only produced 1700's relics. Rev War era stirrup, colonial shoe buckles, 1790's flintlock plate, dandy buttons and so on. No way would an 1862 counterfeit coin be there. As I stated before, preponderance of evidence...
