Greetings Fellow F2 Md'ers:

Thought I would start a thread about the F2 - What have you found with the read out of the F2?. Here is what I have found:

VDI Reading: 33 - 35: Nickel
VDI Reading: 62 - 64 newer pennies
VDI Reading: 72 - 73 older pennies
VDI Reading: 74 - Dime
VDI Reading: 79 - 80 Silver ring
VDI Reading: 85 - 86 Quarter
VDI Reading: 95 Half Dollar

I have also found gold rings under the 45 - 49 readings as well.

Curious to see what other F2 MDers are seeing?

Thanks,
Gotcha

I got my girlfriend th F2 and it will be here in a few days. Im going to try it out for a few days and let you know what I come up with. Have you found a vid chart that shows what stuff should come up under what numbers?

You know I have found several pennies with iron, I know that the F2 doesn't have an Iron mask but it was sort of funny that I found pennies on top of iron nails. I really think that I have under estimated the F2 for sure. I will start to take note and post it here along with you.

A solid 33 is a nickel but I have dug them from 29-35
Had a solid zinc signal once and popped a shallow nickel...still cannot figure that one out
Zinc pennies from 59-64
Dimes 71-74 usually
Steel pennies 73-76
All my silver rings rang in at a solid 71...larger ones could be your 79-80
Quarters are usually a solid 80-82 and eventually you can hear the difference in this tone than most other targets that come in here.
It's just fully rounded and beautiful!
Never dug a 1/2 or a dollar with the F2 so I don't know about that.

These are from my air testing on some silver and gold rings and from another member's air testing on some coins.(Mike1961)
Could be different in your soil, and I see some of your readings are different from my coin readings too.

By the way...there is a thread about the F2 started by yours truly.
Everything I know and learn and discover and find goes in here.
It wanders a bit from time to time, but lots of info there.
Feel free to contribute if you like.
Always thrilled to learn something new about this fantastic little powerhouse!

Just to add...I've found that if i get a 35 it's always been a newer pop/beer tab...always.

and 45 has always been the old style of ring pull....but I dig them anyway, never know when a ring is going to pop.

Son and I were out at a tot lot and stayed at a stead 44/45 told son "that's a ring" and it was...

67-73 has always been zincoln, copper penny, dimes
80-84 quarters, sometimes 85..but lately 85 has been nails...alot of nails...and washers.
98-00 silver....or a really huge hunk of something buried.
29-33 nickel.
41,44,48 gold ring (well, at least my wedding band)

Ur read out is about right. However the depth of the object will have a impact on the vdi numbers. I found that f2 is not very reliable past 4 inches.
