Purchase advice

The Land Ranger Pro.

Sub $300 and that is new, not used, so you have the full warranty.

DD coil, manual ground balance, and tons of other advanced features. In that price range, for a new detector, it's tough to beat.

I agree 100%. There is nothing at under $300 that comes close to it.

The ability to notch OR disc OR V-Break 1 by 1 on the 0-99 scale. Not "blocks" or "segments"...1 by 1....
Manual AND quick grab ground balance...
4 tones (low,mid,high,VCO)...
All Metal mode WITH ID...
3 custom modes and 3 preset modes...(7 total if you include AM mode)
Volume adjust on the machine itself...
Auto-saves settings....

It really is a great machine and is easily worth $400-500.

Well, that sucks. My BH Plat Pro can't even single discrim and it's more expensive. It won't auto save custom settings either, I got screwed!
