In post #31, I posted 8 mlf programs . If you would like to start a MLF file post, you can add those to keep everything together. That sounds like a great idea.

To keep your CTX looking good, you can buy a screen saver protector for a tablet and cut it to size and apply to your CTX screen.....I also use Novus plastic cleaners as well.

+1

I used the anti-glare one from NuShield and it made a huge improvement as far as seeing the screen more clearly in direct sunlight.

I was running a program that I built, ran manual sensitivity at 23 today.Name: DSC02694 (1).JPG
Views: 102
Size: 125.1 KB I forgot to add the '46 nickel but this is what I dug today. Those bottle caps ring in at 12.30-12.35.The 14 k gold ring I dug with the CTX earlier this year rang in a 12.30, so I'm going to be a sucker for digging bottle caps. The iron bits were deep, iffy, I was just hoping to squeeze another silver out but it didn't happen. I sort of knew they weren't, the tone changed slightly when jumping to different pattern, or programs but I don't mind digging , it just seemed good to get out today. Another 1944 wheat back today, those are my favorite pennies as they were made from recycled artillery shells from the war.

The wheats were 12.42 which is where the dimes will fall sometimes and other times you'll get a 12.44.For whatever reason nickels fall lower, usually 11.12 is always a nickel for me.
If you change from ferrous coin/ ground coin mode, the numbers drop off from the 12 line and then when you use smooth tone, the targets blend and jump all over. I look for repeatable signals. They don't have to sound all that good, they have to stay consistent in their sound. I hope this doesn't confuse you too much. Once you get going and become familiar with time spent on it, it will be second nature or so I 'm hoping. I don't have a lot of time on it yet. Maybe someone who does can chime in.

Correct running ferrous coin will keep ferrous number on or close to 12 line.

High trash and ground coin ferrous number will roam more on screen,,,but nonferrous should report lower( less than) line 28 usuallY.

Ground coin,,,in higher mineral soil,,some depth gains possible vs ferrous coin.

This ferrous coin process is one thing that separates CTX from Etrac and previous explorer models.

It never got above 20 degree today and it's windy to boot ,so I never got out. Tomorrow doesn't look any better but next weekend is looking to be in the 30's, possibly 40 for Sunday. I'm going to dump my ctx programs and reload new ones. Let me get more time but I might have 2 decent programs to upload , a regular park with ferrous coin program along with my trashy smooth program. I want more time to make sure it is as good as I can make it before sharing. Did anyone else get out this weekend ?

There will be better days for sure. We got a new blanket of snow covering today, looks nice and clean but quite frankly, I am tired of winter.

Thank you, Yes, I found him here.He said he had sold it, I did not know you have it though. He has 260 metal detecting you tube videos. That is amazing. Thank you for taking the time to post.

I would rather you post a program that you made. I think it will help you learn the machine better by using applying modes to get the desired program you are looking to use.

Coin shooting, you can base your mode to distinguish tone bins in the coin areas. Disc out certain pull tabs or whatever undesirable for your grounds that you hunt. I personally like long or pitch hold depending on coin depth I am after with the program and then smooth for the high trash/iron ridden areas. The longer I can hear the target signal, the easier it is for me to determine whether to dig it or not. A distinguished coin tone allows you to hear the difference in iron false tones as well if you choose not to wrap the program window for iron feedback. Watch your pinpoint in iron. mentally or even physically mark your targets on pinpoint in between sweeps on the same target. Iron target pinpoints will move slightly from previous pinpointing, good targets won't.

I edited to shorten the post. No need for the extra ramblings.

Are you watching his Nokta impact videos ? It's nice to be able to see the Impact being used as we would use it.
