Found this one item at a 1920’s 30’s home and School site. Most finds from that era.
This seems to be brass or copper with plastic like ‘lens’.
Any help appreciated
Last pic will be other stuff found that day including 1935 Buffalo Nickle.

Looks like a tough one to me. I haven't stumbled upon a valid idea for this yet. Is the "lens" concave/convex, or flat?

That’s what I was thinking. Either that or possibly some type of gauge cover.

Lot of great ideas Can’t discount any
‘Lens’ is concave, plastic and plastic is crazed Probably was clear at one time
The Metal is very thin, tin like but not magnetic.

A concave lens could be used as a non-inverting Eye piece.
Kaleidoscope eye piece is a good possibility.
