Decatur Illinois area anyone?

I'm in the Decatur, Ill area. Originally from the Chicago suburbs. I belonged to a metal detecting group but had to move plus in the Cook county area they had an ordinance to ban md'ing in the Forest Preserves. Which made me sad and other md'ers from the club. Now I come to Decatur finding out that you can't MD around Fairview Park. I did MD in my back yard and found a gold ring about four inches deep using a Minelab Explorer 2.
