Odd piece of silver?

I found this piece at a place I frequent. It rang up as a solid 72 on my MX Sport, which is in silver dime range. No apparent silver marks. I tested it with a silver acid test kit, and it didn't change colors. You can see to the right of the acid spot where I did first test. It left a dull milk color. I am not sure, but could this be silver? Did I conduct testing correctly? The opposite side shows to the left a copper color, but that is just lighting. It has silver coloring throughout. This surely an odd piece to me. I have no clue what it may be. The old home site was built in the late 1700's and occupied up until early 2000.

Sometimes its hard to tell from pics...if indeed it is silver I wonder if it could possibly be some "trade" silver??

Here's a test, get some aluminum foil wet and wrap the subject in question inside of it, if it starts crackling and smelling like rotten eggs, it's silver. It looks like aluminum from here but hard to tell from pictures.
