How do i tell if it is gold or silver

how do I tell if gold is gold and silver is silver without any hall marks??

Replies will be much appreciated oh wise ones.............

Seems to me that if it is the real thing, gold or silver, it will be marked.

Only way I know if there isn't a mark is a acid test... I think they made electronic gold testers as well...

Some old gold wasn't marked... Google Gold/Silver testers.

You can get acid test kits off ebay for not too much money. They are a bit frustrating at first but you'll soon get the hang of using them.
