One of my first finds with my Lobo Supertraq! Did some quick googling and found out it was made anywhere from 1867-1911 by Union Metallic Cartridge Company. This is the star primer headstamp, which I believe is on the newer end of that manufacture period. Still makes it pretty old and cool!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to safely clean this? I used water to get the dirt off, but quickly realized the inside still has a layer of paper, so I stopped trying to clean it immediately.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Very cool! I found one with the star recently, I think it was the Nitro Club variation. If I recall correctly "New Club" pertained to it being loaded with smokeless powder.

That's the nicest headstamp I've ever seen and I've dug more than a few of those star ones.

That's a great one. I have about 6 of those and I like finding them each time. I actually collect headstamps, tumble them in a concoction of BBs, Dawn soap and various levels of grit, and display them in a stained oak chunk of wood.

Many people just toss them, but I think they turn out pretty nice!

Thanks everybody! I'm pretty excited to have found this and definitely will be keeping it and any others I may find. I was looking more closely at it and I am afraid I might lose some of the headstamp if I clean it up. So, for now, I'm prolly gonna leave it as is.

Those are good finds and by finding the appx years that the particular shell was made helps date the area you are hunting
