I found a Canadian two dollar coin and would like to clean it up.
Web search said outer is nickel and inner core of aluminum bronze.
What method would you use to clean it?
The inner core is the worst.
Sorry about the picture quality :(
.. Thanks ..

I'd try a rock tumbler with the usual aquarium gravel, a drop of dish soap and some water. Unless the middle is too rotted out with physical damage, it should clean up nicely.

Dang I wish I detected when I was living in Canada, all those loonies and twonies!:(

just knock that center part out and replace it with a penny.:lol:

but seriously, most of the toonies i've found are in great shape. the only exception is on i dug at a beach. it took me a second to even realize what the thing was! a nice nickle colored thing with a very green blob in the middle of it. unless i really get hard up for 2 bucks, i'm probably just going to leave it like it is..... a great conversation piece. :D
