As many of the reeds I (and I'm sure all of you) find, it was a pleasant surprise to find a whole one today...all of 10 to 12 inches down. Yes, it's falling apart. Yes, it won't survive cleaning I'm sure. But I've never found a whole harmonica!
First two holes were a Jefferson nickel and a ball of foil. Third hole was a shiny 1939 quarter. That was given to the land owner as a thank you.
Several other nice finds in the yard too. My third ever large cent isn't pretty, but I can see her.. Looks to me like a "Matron", what with the weird chin and all.
Gonna try to get out tomorrow again. 18 degrees tomorrow night, so the freeze isn't far away...… (albeit very late this year).
