transcended the late afternoon and evening of July 30th, and continued into the wee hours of the morning of 31st. By sunrise, all 11 ships of the 1715 fleet had sunk.

On July 30th of this year, EXACTLY 300 YEARS TO THE DAY of that tragedy, we started to find gold coins. By the end of the first day, we had a total of 231 gold escudos, including 5- royal 8 escudos.

At the end of the second day, we were up to 301 gold coins, including 7 royals.

We continued to work the site for a few more days until it was cleaned out and the final number was 350 something gold coins including 9 royals.

Before this day, there were only about 15 or so royal 8 escudos in existence.

The total value of the find is estimated to be around 4-5 million dollars.

Lucky me, I got to bring up all but 15 of the coins. I brought up all of the royals.

Enjoy the pics.:D

Wow... Just wow...

Pretty much everyone on these forums would consider it a find of a lifetime to recover just ONE of those coins. And to recover 100's of them. No words.

Wow! What a heart-pounding retrieval! It must have been like Christmas, every minute of every day! Congratulations, scoundrel!

Holy Sheet mon! Currently pushing my eyeball's back in their sockets! I hope to hear all about your exploits or read the book if you so chose to write one.
