I have 33 Morgan and peace dollars that are dated between 1880 and 1926. I am looking to get the most out them. I'm open for suggestions. I know alot of you are going to say keep them, but I'm really needing the money right now. I hate to have them melted, as there are fewer and fewer of them every day. But like I said I just need the money. If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to sell before consider scrapping them for melt. The majprity of them are in "fine" to "very fine" condition but a few are pretty worn. Give me your thoughts. Refinery or collector?

Thanks a bunch and happy hunting!

Are you wanting to sell them all together or break them up? Say from a single, to groups of 2, 5,10?

You have 20,000 some members . Now most are interested in coins but probably most want to find their own coins. but you have many collectors in the forum. I would sell in classified here . I seen others sell coins and they seem to sell very fast.

one deal I remember was Indian Head Pennies. I think Old coins and detectors don't last long on the forum .

I'd say try to sell them privatly for the best prices but then be safe first....you dont want to have someone rob you or try to:laughing:

I have a few morgans and a 1922 peace and understand not wanting to melt them..they have a premium beyond the silver value (being 3/4 oz of silver) and historical, as for people on here prefering to find them, yes but likely?, no

Quite a few here collect as well as find, myself included:-

you should be able to find someone here to buy but they are going to need pictures of the fronts and backs, as much listed as possible and for proof id say to take a piece of paper with your forum name on it to sit beside them to prove you have possession...one reason i only tend to buy from ebay or people ive known a while

But I know everybody here likes pictures! I'll take some pics and post for y'all to see. I've collected them over the years from various places. I haven't found any of them detecting, but picked them up from banks, stores, etc. I used to always check with cashiers and tellers to see if anyone had paid with them or cashed them in. It always surprised me that someone would use it for face value when it has a melt value of $25+. But they're history. Anyway, pics will be up in a bit.

wow amazing that you found these at stores and what not .. even more amazing that someone would spend one lol! from the pics it looks like you could get more than melt value for a few
