Got out for 3 hours this morning while on vacation in the GA mountains. I was able to hunt an old school nearby where I found my first silver coin ('53 Rosie) last summer. Not the silver luck from last year but a nice haul of clad for 3 hours work. Also found an old lock, a USA flag pin and a whatisit (looks like some kind of cap because it is hollow with threads on the inside). Still find it hard to believe that I couldn't pull up just one silver or even a wheat cent in the yard of a school that's been there since the late '20s. Closest was a '66 quarter and a '59 memorial penny. Can't complain about just getting out and having fun, though. HH all!

glad you got out and had fun. It's always nice to do a little detecting on a vacation. Lots of clad there... the place has probably been detected a bunch already and deeper signals picked out.

I was thinking the same thing. I actually found a history book of the area as we were leaving the cabin to come back home today. It had pictures of all the old homes in the area as well as the stories behind their owners. Wish I saw the book at the beginning of the week. I may have been doing some vacation door knocking! :)
