Drove to a town about 50 miles away today. To hunt at an old school's baseball field & football field.
The grass on the football field was about ankle high so that was out..
I hit the outfield on the baseball field finding clad and a copper Thunderbird ring.
I took a lunch break, & went to the little old city park, finding 4 wheats and a buffalo along the sidewalk.
It was getting near 5 o'clock,
I thought I had, better start on my way back home....
Dang it I wanted to find more!
So I stopped in another town with a street tear out that's been going on.
I located some good signals, that kept me there till near dark.
First was a wheat penny, then crossing the street, I started find more!
A Mercury(1937) then another wheat,
Then an Indian, then another 12:43 I find a broken cuff link pin with a sterling mark....
Re scanned the hole I found the rest of the cuff link.
Making my way back up the hill, and a dog barking at me from across the street,
I dug up an iffy signal....
A dog house shaped dog tag from 1957
Next signal another Merc(1918)
A few more signals before I had to call it a day I found another Indian , and a few more wheats.
Today's haul was 8 wheats1917, 1926,1937, 40,45,45,46,50 , 2 Indians 1886 1908,
one buffalo 1928, 2 Mercs 1918 1937, a copper ring
STR cuff link, silver plated spoon,
$4.33 in clad (61 coins total)

Nice day! Always wanted to hunt a street tear out

my feet are sore today !
gonna wear my better boots when I go back,
some spots I had to almost jump on my Sampson shovel to dig.
that ground was so compacted from skid loaders and bull dozers
I may need a jack hammer or a pick axe, no plugs were made, they came out in clumpy clods of dirt

Congratulations you had a really good day!

I made a return on Sunday , with two other fellow diggers, usmcdetector swinging his dues, & digginguphistory swinging his Etrac ,
It was a pretty good hunt.
USMC found two early Rosie's, 3 Indians, a 54 Washington, several wheats,
History found several wheats and a silver plated pocket watch.
Along with clad.
The tokens I had found I did some research and made a return of a different kind....
It turns out that I know the great, great grand daughter and grandson
They are the 4 th generation of the old billiards bar /pool hall.
I worked with the grandson, and went to school with his sister.
I gave them to her tonight, she asked if I wanted something for them ....as a type of reward...
I just said a beer would be reward enough[emoji3]

You had a great day! I've never done a street or curb tear out, but I'm going to look into it after seeing your post. Being a former land developer, I know how to find them and when it's going to take place. Thanks!
