Hi,
i live in italy, my passion is to find things, even useless ;) , finally i have the pportunity to buy a metal detector.

I really dont want to spend more than 100€ for the MD and i only need that they beep at any metal (iron, silver, gold ...) so no discrimination needed, here 2 of my picks:
VSMD10
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B00388S07G...olid=1TYLRZOP0IZN2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Seben Deep Target
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B005T3X37U...olid=1TYLRZOP0IZN2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I have read a lot this forum and i know that any of will suggest to start with an ace150, but i have a limited budget and i can buy only on amazon...

Also i want to invest in rechargeable batteries (i really can not throw away anithing) , so here 2 other picks:

superex 9v Ni-MH 350mAh
https://www.amazon.it/SUPEREX-RPC-S...1530114542&sr=1-12&keywords=NiMh+ricaricabile

9V Li-ion Keenstone 800mAh
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B078JMHHF8...olid=1TYLRZOP0IZN2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Not knowing either of those detectors I can't say yes or no. Either would get you started.

But always buy the highest MA rechargeable the 9V Li-ion Keenstone 800mAh look good to me. I have not tried lithium ion 9v only ni-mihi (800 ma is a lot of power).

Welcome from the midwestern US.

I think you'll have a great time. I totally understand being on a budget for a metal detector...I'm on one myself. Fortunately I was able to talk my wife into letting me "invest" in a Garrett AT Pro.

I started with a Fisher F2...then got an Ace 250 for a STEAL (from my nephew...long story, but it was "fair" to pay 50 bucks for it)....then upgraded to my AT Pro.

But I would suggest something that has VDI (numbers which indicate the type of metal). While it's not 100% accurate, it's something to reference, so at least you have an idea of what you're looking at. I wish shipping weren't so high, I'd sell you my Fisher F2 for close to 100€, but shipping would put it way over your limit.

I would suggest looking at used metal detectors. You should be able to find a used ACE 150 or 250 for close to what you are able to spend. Both are good starter machines.

ETA:

I can't read Italian, but this looks like it might be ok, although a little higher (110) than you want to spend.

As I said, I TOTALLY understand being on a budget. I've gotten "harassed" about being on a budget myself regarding some of my purchases, so I'm totally on your side with that.

I'd just hate for someone who WANTS to get into the hobby get a "bad" machine and hate the hobby.

If those 2 machines are your best picks to choose from, I'd get the ones with the headphones and other things included. Those digging tools are not very good for detecting, though.
I agree that shopping used might get you a better machine for the price.

As JWalker3 said: always get the highest mAh battery you can.

Thank you all.
I've been seeing metal detector videos for years
Finally I have the chance to buy a cheap one, I'm sure I will spend some good moments and I hope to find something of value so I can buy a nice garret at pro XD , joke, it will be great even if i find nothing, consider that the past years when i go for holidays at the sea my time was spent looking for shiny rocks and digging random holes in the sand...

Also i will buy the Keenstone battery as suggested

Welcome! I would think your best option would be to buy a used ace 250 and don't forget you will need a pinpointer and a decent digger as well...

Between those two, I noticed that the "Visua" appears to offer tone and a needle indication of signal strength, where the "Cercametalli" appears to only offer tone. That visual indicator would tip me in favor of the Visua, plus it comes bundled with headphones and a few digging tools to get you started. The lack of reviews may be a concern, but I just don't think I'd be happy with tone-only.

My first pick, though, is what in fact I did do: buy a used detector.

Another welcome from West Michigan!

Do as much research as you can on the detectors you are considering. Use it and save the proceeds to add items such as headphones, pinpointer, and substantial digger as you can.

Welcome to the forum and the hobby! Thank you for joining us.

Of your choices for detectors, I lean towards the VSMD10, because of the larger package. Nomatter which metal detector you purchase, I really hope you have fun and find some interesting stuff. I will look forward to reading your future posts! :D

The VSMD10 almost looks like it could be a clone/similar knock-off of this detector: https://youtu.be/9DgteTCwoEE

I think there are a bunch of variants out there. I could be wrong, though.
The owner of that channel seems to really like the one he has.
