I saw that one too. Nice clear example. Mine does not look like that, but has some similarities. Thanks. I'll bring it to a coin guy I know, to hear what he says. If he knows I'm not trying to sell it, he might give an honest opinion.So then googled for 1950 quarter S over D.

Doesn't look like what you have but there may be variations.
You will need to have this coin examined by an expert.
It does look like a ding there, but maybe it was part of the D that got dinged. I'm also wondering if that is another part of a D, inside the lower tail of the S. If this is an S over D mint mark, it's a poor example, I know.looks like something just scuffed the top of the S to me, but I am far from an expert on it

Same here. I'm not seeing the slightest evidence of a D.
Thanks guys. I believe you're right. Oh well...it gave me an excuse for using my scope for a close-up photo.I see some post mint damage and maybe...maybe some mechanical doubling on the S. S/D...nope. Sorry. But love your set up!
