Unexpected relic

Last year I was hunting a property where a house once stood. I got a real loud high tone thinking it was going to be a can or something I dug it and found this brass eagle head. My first thought was that it was a cane handle or a flag topper but I researched it and discovered it was a early to mid 1800s officer saddle pommel.

Thank you everyone it was quite a surprise to find out what it was. TPmetal it is about 2 inches tall and about an inch and a quarter wide
