A note of inspiration for new folks - Long and boring

That was a fun read, congrats on that ring which popped up at the last moment just as you were ready to call it quits. It just goes to show how one has to listen to that hunch, there’s always that hunch and somehow they pay off as in this case, I’ll head out on my next hunt with gusto!.

You hit the nail on the head for a lot of us at different times.

It is funny how slumps are interrupted by surprise finds. It is a fact you never know which site or swing brings you over a good find. I have heard that metal detecting is a lot like buying lottery tickets. Our ticket price is the cost of equipment and the time we spend.

My last find was a men's 14k gold wedding band. Yep gold and silver finds are very rare for me. I felt mighty pleased on that drive home.

I find that when I don't find anything good, I start " to Cherry Pick "to go faster, and if I do find silver, I slow way down, and dig all the signals ? I guess that is a personal choice ?
