OOPS. Sorry guys; hadn't quite got the hang of Photobucket just yet. That should read Copper wedding band estimated circa late 1800s. Found Millen Ga. area.

Jim.. Do you think that ring was plated at one time? When I find copper rings there is usually evidence of plating.

considering the area I was in when I dug this little ticket along with a shield nickel with an 1879 date I doubt it had been plated. You may be correct however, how much gold plating you reckon was goin on in South Ga in the late 1800s? This was in the woods along a firebreak with a Civil War Fort (earthen) a mile or so away.
