Hey guys and gals, I had to go to the big city last weekend for a doctor appt on monday morning, so I figured what the heck, might as well stop by the bank and get a box of half dollars. So I did, got home later that night and went through them. SKUNK! :roll:

So Yesterday I had to go to a small town (I live in the country, right between two towns that have a population of about 1500) and make a dump run so I figured I would stop by the bank and see if they had any, and they had $600 in customer wrapped rolls. I took them all. And, I am very glad I did. :D

Opened up the first roll, dumped it into my hand and it looked like this.

managed to get 2 '64s (90% silver) and 61 '66-'69s!!! (40% silver)

I am definitely hooked. :cool::shock:

All the silvers sorted by date: '64s, '66s, '67s, '68s, and '69s.

Very nice! I use to do this a while back and did very well. Seems to be getting harder now.. I should start doing it again.

Call me naive

But what do you do with the 40% silvers. I know people will pay a premium for the 90%.... I assume they intend to melt them down... but the 40%ers? Interesting!

Great score! I think the '65-'69 ('70) Kennedys are fairly under-the-radar in terms of silver content to most people.

There's no shortage of ebay buyers who'll happily pay right around spot for the 40%'ers. That's not necessarily the most profitable way to move them (ebay/paypal fees, etc), but there's definitely a market for them.

thanks guys!

I intend to wait until silver prices rise again and sell some. I'll probably keep around 5-10 of each. Until then, this is where they reside.
