Trying again for bottle ID

If you create an ID at the Rusty Bunch website and post in in General Discussion I'll bet you get an ID. They are beer can and bottle diggers/collectors, and one of the members, Leon, is from Detroit and digs a ton of pre-Prohibition beer bottles. Make sure you put Michigan in your header.

I posted a pic of your bottle on the antique-bottles site (I think Leon is a member there) and he didn't recognize it.

I believe this bottle is from the Union Brewing Co of Peoria, IL, in business from 1886 until Prohibition closed it in 1920. There are several examples of this brewery using different style eagle logos, and the U. See this link for some history on the company - scroll down to the very bottom of the page. Just a guess, but it seems to fit.

Yeah we found quite a few breweries using an eagle. Maybe someone from that part of Illinois can chime in.
