Don't get me wrong, I think the people should return the money, but how will they find the people who picked it up? Sounds like a pretty empty threat to me.

unless they can get some video footage from one of the buildings around that area or maybe from the atm camera that would really be the only way to prove the identity of the people who picked up the money

I found a deposit bag this year while detecting had a couple hundred in it. Had the deposit slips in it went to turn it in to the local business and found out it was stolen. The store owner wasn't allowed to take it back because they already claimed it on their insurance. Who knows where the cash ended up.

Scuba, that has happened a few times in Maryland that I know of.. One was on interstate 95, and the other was a wreck or something along those lines. And they asked for the money to be returned on both...

I would almost bet the coins Aquachigger found a few years ago were from a robbery..but long ago and forgotten.
