Well, after my hunt with some forum members on Saturday, I had renewed faith in the old school where I have found a couple of silvers.
The first merc I found was a real sneaky one. It was a terrible signal, but it it squeeked good both ways. It was a really crappy signal. I walked away from the hole 3 different times. I could never get it to pinpoint, so after the 3rd trip back to the spot, I decided I just had to know what was getting me so flustered. She showed her face about 6 inches deep after I had made the hole about a foot wide! Its a 1917.
Sorry, no pics, my phone was dead in the car. The 2nd merc 1941, wasn't much of a fighter. She rang in a loud and clear 11-45 on the etrac.
I think my favorite find of the day is the IHC token. Its from 1931 and the size of a silver dollar. It felt like one too! My heart was beating like crazy as I cleaned it off. It rang in a solid 12-46. The numbers showed quarter, so I was thinking as I saw it come out of the ground that there was no way this is a dollar, but I was still hoping it was!
My clad count for the day was $3.12
Thanks for looking!
