This is what I found yesterday.. I was hoping to find one before I left Hawaii.. But not one like this..It is the first coin ever minted for Hawaii it is very rare only 100,000 ever minted... Hawaii only put 11,963 in circulation .. The Hawaiian people didn't like them so they threw them in the ocean and in the volcano... And only 5000 or so known to exist.. CM140818-12544503.jpg

Holy toledo! Well you have that on the beach forum, so are we to assume this was a beach find ? If so it doesn't look like it was ever in salt water. So must be a dry sand find ? Or .... ? Do tell a bit more about the type site!
