I saw a pic somewhere on here in someones post of a floating sifter.It looked to be made of PVC pipe and hardware cloth.How well does that work?What are the general dimensions?What size pipe did you use?I'm going to build something of that nature,but would love to hear the pro's and cons to the already working unit.Thanks for any info.

I don't use it everytime I go out.. It depends on the bottom conditions.. If its muddy and large stones I use it if its gravel or sand I don't

It works fine and there is no danger of it tipping over... I made one as well, I lined a clamming basket and put one of those life-saving type rings around the top and lined it with hardware cloth 1/4 inch openings..
I never measured the pipe size but it might be 3 or 4 inch diameter... no clue
