Poor Breast Plate

I hit up an old house that I have hit up a few times before. It has always given me something. Sunday was no different!

I dug up this piece and at first thought it was another ball jar lid, but then I noticed the lead mixed in with the soil.

Second find was an 1864 2 cent piece. It is still soaking in olive oil to try and get the rest of the debris off.

Well it's a very good thing you still were able to recognize it for what it was. Someone else might have thrown it in the trash pile. Nice 2 Cent piece!!!

When I see that breast plate I think of being shot through it. Geeezzzz....

Regardless of its condition, that is still a righteous find! I'd be thrilled to come across one even in that condition! That 2 center is good looking - their patina always holds up really nice!
