Hello fellow history hunters.
A few unusual items of militaria and regimental buttons have popped out of pasture that I have been searching recently. I still can't explain entirely why or how these things are here, but have tried to ID what has been found so far......
Item 1 is a German rear tunic belt hook. It was stitched onto the rear of the tunic and prevented the soldier's belt from slipping down under the weight of the equipment attached to it. You may be able to just make out an imperial crown on it.... With a little help, it is thought the the button with "1" on it is probably from a shoulder strap and denotes the battalion. The last button is a Colonial troops one.

Any further info on the middle one would be greatly appreciated.
