Hey Guys,
So we are doing some work on a home built in the 1700s, and excavated the basement about 30". I was detecting in the excavated soil outside today and came across this. I'm not sure what it is. Sorry for the poor pictures, will try to get better ones uploaded soon. I can't really see any lettering or anything on there, so it might just be nothing, but I just wanted to check. Thanks!

Photo Hint:

Zoom and crop the photos.

If you can't see any detail in the photos you post, chances are, neither can we.

Spanish silver!

My guess, based on location and all..

Which one is the size of a penny?

<°)))>{

Thanks for the info and suggestions everyone. Here are some cropped photos of the object, and I'm going to try and get some higher quality photos for you all to post soon. Also, not sure if something this worn down would anyway, but it doesn't stick to a magnet, so possibly silver yes! Thanks again, and I look forward to working to figure this thing out!

Ice Scratcher you were right! It's in really rough shape but I cleaned it up and it's an old Spanish silver! Thank you so much!

Pretty sure its spanish silver. Probably a half reale. I've found a hand full and many look exactly like that. Almost always well worn. 60% have been drilled with that little hole.Put a little silver cleaner on it to get rid of the tarnish and you may see some more detail.
