Detected a Ghost town site and found my first Silver dollar, a 1878 Morgan. Got a strong 92 reading on my DFX and my first thought was mashed aluminum can so was shocked when it came out of the hole. It has a few small nicks and scrapes but is beautiful to me. The only coin I found.

It must be Morgan season! They're sure turning up right now for some lucky few on here!

Major congrats, on the great, beautiful, awesome coin find!

If you're only going to find one coin on a hunt, make it a Morgan :).

WOW!! Two silver dollars from members of the same club!!

Big Congrats!! On your Big Silver Dollar. Just unbelievable for two guys in the same club finding silver dollars on the same day. That has to be one for the record books. And we were at least 80 miles apart. The monitors will like this. I hope its like the flu and some of the rest of the club get one.

That coin is tops on my wish list. Congrats on a awesome find. If my theory about how it got there is correct; that coin has been in the ground for 135 years. That would account for the toning and condition (XF40).

That's in pretty darn good condition despite the nicks! Great relief detail.
Congratulations on a rare find!
