I haven't figured it out yet
This is what you get when you jewelry hunt with a gold detector. Ihad a hell of a time finding it. The pro pointer wouldent hit it, but the GBP said it was there. It was around the roots of some grass. I pulled the grass out and detected the pile. The target was gone so I detected the grass and hit it good. Picked up a single bit of grass and thought for a miniut I had metal grass.:?: I could barly see it. Anyway it weights about 1/10 of one grain. :jawdrop: I think its copper.

Interesting. Any marking at all on it anywhere? Had times like that, not able to find the tiny earth colored metal :)

Neat find.

Here is a ring I found back in the 80's made out of a dime. I believe the date is 1964. Looks like it was made for a small child and the writing on the dime can still be seen inside the ring. You can see the size of the ring compared to a regular dime.

There aren't markings on mine. They would be microscopic. Those are some amazingly small rings you guys have found. But this is in a league of its own. This one cant be 1/10 of the weight of those. I just measured it with my calipers and it is 15/1000" by 17/1000" thick. Like I said I dont think its jewelery. Just a really small spacer or something.

I suppose if you were really wealthy you could have jewelry made for your child's dolls....
Crazy thought I know

could it be the spacer from a ball point pen?

I had to "bump" this thread because while reviewing my past finds I
came across this "ring" which was part of a rotten away shotgun headstamp.
What the OP possibly found was also a headstamp remains?:?:

Man that's small!

Here's one I found at an old "Ghost Town". The site I was hunting was the Commissary (Company Store) for a Turpentine Still. It sizes up at just under size 2-1/2! It is a non precious metal according to one shop that I had test it and a synthetic stone. It was down 7 inches in the dirt and I was using a buddy's DFX (I had not gotten my E-Trac yet) when I found it. I am guessing it has to be circa 1920's based on the depth, style, and age of other artifacts we have found there. The DFX indicated "Ring". I have not air tested it with the E-Trac yet...
