They may have been told it's not worth more than $500.
917,628 of the 1934 $500 bills where printed. There are 72,476 available to collectors.
There easily found...for sale. With the stains and folds, Big Bill collectors will not give much over face value for it. At auction, maybe you could get up to $700. Good luck and congrats!
