Well, I got up somewhat early today and grabbed my silver sniffer and ran out the door....I hit the location of where an old house supposedly sat but came up empty.
Then I shot back out to a park that has coughed up some serious oldies for me in the past couple years. I was just here out of desperation 3 days ago and managed a V nickel (included in this post)
I have to backtrack to about 3 years ago....My friend and I had a go at this park for about 35-45 minutes with CTX and ETRAC. We dug just about nothing.....He said hed seen enough iron and scrap metals infestation so we left. I know that this site was the home of huge 1800s tourist lakefront hotel and I just didn't want to accept the fact that there weren't any old coins here. Since that day I kept going back and slowly started squeezing some coins from the midst of all the iron and scrap. I'm looking through my finds logbook to tally up the totals for this park. 1st silvers were on 5/6/16. These are the totals...17,43,45,35 Mercs, 2 Rosies, 2 Barber dimes, 1853 Trime, 1885 seated dime, a dateless SLQ, a holed 1853 Seated half dollar !!!
I've combed through there 3 or 4 times this year nice n slow for several hours and only managed a few Indians and a few older nickels....I had told myself to write this place off for good last week, but something keeps pulling me back....
This afternoon I cruised through there again basically just thinkin I'd dig the 3 inch deep penny and nickel tones just for the heck of it.....Half hour in I got a 7 inch 12-43, 12-42 , couldn't believe it.....It was mostly 12-42 and 12-40 though, and it was raining so I didn't wanna grab my camera....but anyway, I dig it up and to my surprise once again I see another smooth thin "ONE DIME" in the hole. I didn't have to flip it over , I knew it was too smooth to be a Barber......
I'd say I've been pretty fortunate this year...............I only have 20 silvers and 5 of them are 1800s !!!

Congrats Bob on some very nice hunting. You dug a good variety of items but I love the Seated Dime most. I'm still looking for my first Seated this year. Trapper

Excellent Bob... I keep learning every day and that machine is downright unreal when it comes to hunting high conductors. But a great part of it is the operator too,and of course a great site!
Really nice coins n stuff!
