Anyone bought a "Cen-Tech" pinpointer from Harbour Freight; if so, how deep can it detect a penny?

I have the pinpointer you are asking about. For the money I don't think you can go wrong. The depth isn't much more than a couple of inches at best, but I don't think I need much more, I mean if it was to sound off at 6 inches I couldn't even get it near my hole I just dug. Now if you want depth from it for the purpose of popping coins I guess you could do better. Just my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it!

Just bought one today. Seems like a pretty good unit for the price. Its gonna be my backup PP.

I've been getting anywhere from a half inch to two inches with it. Not sure why it does better some times than others. But for 15 bucks or so I'm happy with it!

If you want depth get the Pistol PROBE. It will help with more accurate pinpointing and speed up recovery time. I have been very impressed.
