its beautiful. they broke up the ice at a couple of landings on Winnebago by me so it could re freeze smoother. another night of cold weather here. at least its only-5.

Some of the most exciting adventures a Man can have is by going out fishing on the ice!...Hearing that strange 'whumpwhumpwhump' ice freeze cracking on a cold dark starlit night...Going into the twilight zone of beer induced thoughts, sitting on a five gallon bucket in a comfortable shanty, enjoying a sharp drill you filed yourself...
Running outside to take a squirt and check the tip ups... Lost in the hiss of a Coleman gas lantern, serene and at peace...Smoking... At the verge of passing out from Carbon Monoxide poisoning...running a little jigging stick you made from a sassafras branch, staring at a Thill bobber for hours...Ahhh...yeah! Theres really nothing else like it! Everybody that has the chance simply must give ice fishing a go just once, all by themselves....Its about as pure and peaceful of an experience a guy can get...as long as the fish dont start biting..then its all kneecaps and elbows!.

Buy yeah, the fishing alone thing, walleye at night on Erie, magic....
It really is something special to walk out and be over two miles from anyone else in the world...
