US Army 11th Airborne Glider Troops Qualifying Badge

So I was putting away the SS jump wings that I just found when I discovered this US Army 11th Airborne Glider Troops Qualifying Badge that I found some years back. I had completely forgotten about it.
Pretty cool that the pin is still functional after 60 + years in the ground.
I'm wondering if it's advisable to attempt cleaning this up any?
Looks like hell compared to my newly acquired silver jump wings

Wow, that is a great pin and probably a bit rare since not many of those gliders were used during WW2.

The pin looks to be brass so most important is preventing corrosion.

It should clean up but unsure of how it may affect value.

That is so cool; it being marked with the year and location: Sendai Japan
Makes you wonder about that time and place, and what the glider pilots did there.

The marks are When and Where made, not any event.
