looking at getting back in since i have a few friends around me that detects.

looking at a f70 or a t2.. budget 1000.00

mainly searching creek areas and parks and lake shores.

I've had my F70 for almost a month and I love this machine, so I'm partial to it. Good luck with your decision and welcome back to the greatest hobby ever!

If you plan to hunt in the creeks and lakes I would suggest an AT PRO
 
Freshwater and land hunting? AT Pro. Not water hunting? Either of the machines you mentioned are really good machines.
