Brass piece??????

Found these within feet of each other at a homesite from the late 1700s to early 1800s. I thought they were used for hanging things off of but I’m not sure! Any ideas?

Yeah, the letters are the wrong orientation for a hook.

Could be, just haven’t seen any that quite look like a pull

I would bet used on a parts cabinet like they used to use in hardware stores something like these.

Could be a pull for a front door mail slot, that might explain it being personalized.
