Anyone Know Marbles?

I dug this marble on accident in my back yard. Pretty sure its really old, probably mid 1800s. You can see in the pic it is far from being perfectly round and it has what I think people call a "pontil", where the glass was blown and then snapped off...I guess? Does anyone know if this thing is worth anything? I know some of the older marbles can be worth good money to collectors. :?:

He knows about marbles...he's lost some in his days. :laughing:
 
This marble could be deformed from heat, such as a house fire or perhaps it was discarded into a cinder pile.

There are several good marble books around.

I been giving all my marble finds to a older gentlemen here. He has a HUGE collection. Most of the ones that are worth money have little rough spots on them where they cut them off. The machined ones are very round and newer.

Also the ones with the ribbon designs can be valuable.
