The round piece really drove the pinpointer crazy, no response to magnet, heavy for size (14g). Thought maybe a button but it's pretty heavy and that crossbar doesn't look too strong. Didn't do anything on the spit test but it's the first time I've tried it. I swear in the photo of the 'front' of it there's a 4 to the right of the hole. Oh, it doesn't bend like lead should. Found at my work, which was a factory from 1946 on, but probably residential before that. My wife says 14g is half an ounce so possibly a weight, didn't see any trade weights shaped like this.
The other piece was found in a park which has been there at least least since the 1920s. Thought it might be part of a tin toy or something but there are no tabs where it would attach to another piece.

The round thing is a hem weight. It was put in the hem of curtains and such to keep them from blowing around and hanging straight.

It is possible that your other piece might be a radius gauge, there are many different shapes and types and many are specific to to a certain application.
Although I couldn't find one similar to yours, I did work in a shop that had some shaped like the one in your pic.

After looking at your pic again, is that a slotted screw head on the top right hand side of the piece? If so it is not a gauge.

Hi - sorry it took me a while to see your response. No screw head, just a diecut piece of steel... thanks for the suggestion!
