I don't know how to update my post from earlier today with the key date wheat and Indianhead penny so I figured I'd just start a new post.
I tried to get one of my girls to come back with me for a little more detecting in that same yard but no takers.....too busy watching YouTube I guess.
Anyway, I had to go up and get groceries for supper tonight.... BUT FIRST, I had to go back and finish detecting that yard.
At first all I was getting were a few memorials until I got a deep 16-15 on the Etrac..... nickel range! I dug way down and pulled out a coin. I knew it had to be either a Buffalo or a V nickel....ended up being the latter. 1899!
I only had about a half hour to detect so I only had a couple more digs.
I went up next to the sidewalk and came across what I thought might be a wheatie. It was on a fairly steep slope leading from the yard to the sidewalk so it was a little tricky to pinpoint. Needless to say it got a little shallow ding. Turned out to be an old part of a bracelet with some really nice old lettering on it!
After that it was off to the store.
