My first Fish Scale Coin

My brother was bored and wanted to go metal detecting again, so we held a little competition. Oldest coin wins dinner. I was a little worried for awhile there, but managed a fantastic win. I have heard of these coins before, but never seen one!

Both mine were found in the water, blackened, in muck, those little guys are hard to see...

I'd imagine theyre pretty hard to come by, even up there.......

I did manage one last summer an hour south of Buffalo....think it was a 1918.....was shocked......

That's what they were referred to as they were about the same size as a fish scale. (its a tiny little coin about the size of your fingernail...
