Lead "US" seal - SOLVED MEAT INSPECTION SEAL

Found this in a farm field. It's lead and probably a seal of some sort? It doesn't look like the round bale seals I've seen others find. Almost like a stamped bullet. The decorative font US is on one side and I can't make out the wording on the other side.
