Lightbulb What would be a good fairly cheap detector for GOLD?

I'm looking into purchasing a metal detector for prospecting and was wondering what would be the best model that is fairly inexpensive. Your responses would be greatly appreciated.

Price range: $500-$1000
Soil type: Highly mineralized area.

Answered your question, but it was moved to "all about detectors."

My Titan 3000xd has no problem finding Gold, just found a 18k wedding band yesterday. It also read gold on my detector. It was around 400. My area is also highly mineralized

You might consider the Whites MXT.

So I would be lucky if I found gold with a MD under $100?

..The Tesoro Lobo is excellent for raw gold! This was gleaned from studying and reading many articles about MD'ing for gold. I am sure there are other great choices too!
