I'm really just interested in y'all's expert advice as to what is the cheapest working metal detector that will locate the horseshoes our horses occasionally lose to wet ground 
. They're never more than five or six inches down, rarely covered, just really hard to see if grass is growing around. I don't intend to use it for anything else--if the treasure hunting bug bites, I'll upgrade 
--so the least expensive model you can suggest should do. Example: what about those $50 models at the big discount chain (I think it's called Bounty Hunter Fun Finder)?
