My Fisher F2 took an unexpected dump into a lake while looking for relics but a friend of mine had a brand new Dr. Otek MT-XR that he brought along that he hadn't even put the battery in yet and let me give it a try. It was as easy to use as the F2 and seemed to work about the same. Very light weight as well. I swung it for most of a day and my arm never got tired. Discrimination worked well and it has a nice display and adjustable volume and headphone jack. I was pleasantly impressed with this unit, especially after my friend said he spent only a little over $100 for it on Amazon. I had quite a few finds that day including what I think was a slick large cent, my first ever if it is. Has anyone else used one that knows anything about the quality of them? Did I get lucky and borrow a decent one or are they hit-and miss? The label says made in China but so is everything else these days it seems. It appears to have only the included coil option which is 250mm in diameter (almost 10 inches). If you've used one please share your experiences with it. I don't have a lot of money and even for how cheap this unit is I don't want to waste money on junk.
