Got out for a bit today to a spot I e pounded and dug what appears to be a 3-ringer. My first. I don't have a caliper handy to measure it but it weighs 685 grains. Anyone have common weights of different caliber 3-ringers? I'll try to post a photo tomorrow after I resize it. Appears to be a dropped bullet. Also lucked onto an 1882 IHP.

Really need a picture, but from that weight, it would be something like a 69 cal. if it were civil war

Here's a photo of it next to a 50 caliber round ball. Took a caliper to it and it reads between .66 and .69.

Congrats on the find . It is an interesting round I'm not sure if it's a .69 cal. or not the rings are not very defined to be a dropped , but could be possibly a fired one without any impact.

Thanks. A buddy did some research and said it could be a 69 caliber "Prussian" ringless round. I believe Ohio regiments may have used them.
